Diggs Dog Crate Review (2024 Upd.) Not Perfect, But Great

Last Updated on July, 2024

Diggs Revol is referred to as the best-looking dog crate by many dog owners; now that I’ve laid my eyes on it, I’d say the same too. Compared to the traditional wire and plastic crates, this is a major step up.

Not only does it provide a safe space for your furry friend, but it also seamlessly integrates into modern living spaces.

That’s not a luxury many dog crates provide.

But is beauty that important when it comes to a dog crate?

Yes, but I’d say functionality, build quality, and durability are all more important in a dog crate than beauty alone. So, Does Diggs offer that?

I’ve been using the Diggs Revol Dog Crate for the past two months, and I’m more than ready to share my experience.

In this Diggs dog crate review, I’ll uncover everything you need to know about this dog crate and help you make a better purchasing decision.

Diggs Revol Dog Crate is made with high-strength steel mesh wire, high-grade aluminum, and reinforced plastic. These high-quality materials make the cage extraordinarily durable and rust-resistant, making it a long-term investment.

Diggs Dog Crate is made up of a unique diamond mesh. This mesh provides maximum airflow and light to your pet from all five sides.

Door Quality

Revol Dog Crate has two doors and three access points: a front door, a garage-style side door, and a ceiling hatch.

Revol Crate consists of little lever buttons on the side. You can lift, fold, and lock the side door when you engage both buttons.

The latch on the front door is very secure, and your pet cannot fiddle around with it, even if he is a good escape artist.

Diggs Revol Dog Crate is a collapsible dog crate. It has a one-hand raising and collapsing design. You can collapse the cage and move it from room to room using the handle and two back wheels.

Your walls or floors will not be damaged while moving as the edges are plastic. Diggs Revol Crate is not exactly a lightweight crate. It’s slightly heavier compared to a traditional metal crate. Still, it is travel-friendly.

A small-size Revol Dog Crate is effortless to set up. But a large cage requires some assembly. Two people are required to assemble a large sized cage. Follow the steps shown in how-to videos on assembling a Diggs Crate to set it up safely.

Proper Use of Diggs Cage

How to Collapse a Diggs Crate?

  • Kneel and position yourself so that your right arm is towards the cage if you are right-handed and vice versa.
  • Turn the creek on the ceiling of the cage counterclockwise.
  • Gently touch the sides. They will fold inward. Then, the ceiling will drop down.
  • Finally, fold the doors inward.
  • To raise the Crate, reverse the order. First, lift the doors and then the ceiling. Turn the knob 900 clockwise.
  • Replace the point

How to Check if the Ceiling is Secure After the Crate is Raised?

When you turn the knob on the ceiling 900, you’ll hear a clicking sound if the ceiling is fixed correctly. Then you’re good to go.

Diggs Crate for Traveling

Revol Dog Crate is ideal for traveling. Why am I saying this is because Diggs collapsible dog crate folds easily.

Using the two wheels and handle, you can roll the cage towards your vehicle.

The handle also helps to lift the Crate and load it into your vehicle.

Diggs Crate is much taller than the other crates when collapsed. I suggest you consider this if you are planning to take it on car journeys.

Diggs Dog Crate isn’t TSA-certified. So you can’t use this for air trips.

Price and Refund Policy of Diggs Revol Dog Crate

Diggs Dog Crate is quite pricey compared to other metal dog crates in the market.

Below are the prices of different sizes of Revol Crates.

  • Small: 375$
  • Medium: 475$
  • Intermediate: 595$
  • Large: 675$

Diggs Dog Crate also has a one-year warranty period from the day of original purchase.

Things I Like About the Diggs Dog Crate

One of the first things I noticed about Diggs Dog Crate is its unique look. It looks fantastic in my living room compared to a traditional crate.

Its distinctive design gives your dog an environment mimicking a den exactly.

Diggs Crate has smooth edges, unlike traditional metal crates. So, your pup is protected from sharp edge injuries.

You no longer have to worry about chipped nails and paws.

This collapsible dog crate can be set up, folded, and stored within seconds.

When I take my pup on road trips or extended stays, I take the Diggs Revol Dog Crate along, Thanks to the travel-friendly features.

You can even slide it under a sofa or bed if someone is coming over.

The Diggs Dog Crate is exceptionally sturdy compared to other folding crates I have used. You don’t have to worry about the cage collapsing onto your dogs while pushing or scratching.

You can use the ceiling hatch to calm your dog or give him his toys without opening the front door and risking the puppy bolting out.

I give my dog his toys through this ceiling hatch with a flick of the wrist.

My pup likes it when I lock the front door and open the garage-style side door. The reason might be he can get in and out through the side door easily. That versatility is something not many dog crates provide.

Every crate should have a removable tray, that is how useful it is. The one in Diggs makes the whole crate-cleaning process a breeze; it’s great.

Revol Crate also comes with a puppy divider. You can stick the puppy divider through the ceiling hatch and lock it in. It’s an effortless procedure.

You don’t have to waste your money on multiple crates. YOU’VE GOT A CAGE THAT GROWS WITH YOUR PUP.

The next favorite thing about the Revol dog Crate is the latches. Latches are the most annoying thing in traditional metal crates.

Opening and closing the doors is quick with a Revol Dog Crate. You have to pop up and pop down the buttons. The locks are easy on the fingers.

Many dogs open the lock of the metal dog crates just by pushing. But that’s not possible with Revol Dog Crate as the door lock integrates with the Crate.

You can feel the lock closing securely with a click sound.

Even the best escape artists cannot open this lock. It will give you peace of mind while you are home away, leaving your pup at home alone.

Diggs has taken your pup’s safety seriously while designing this revolutionary cage.

Things That Need Improvement

Things to be improved:

  • Diggs Revol Dog Crates are difficult to assemble. At least two people are required to assemble the large-sized cage.
  • The Revol Crate is heavier compared to most other dog crates.
  • The wheels are ideal for sliding the crate on hard, flat surfaces. But they don’t function smoothly on carpets.
  • If your dog is a plastic chewer, your dog may destroy the plastic handles.
  • Diggs Revol Dog Crate is pretty expensive.

Customer Testimonials About the Diggs Dog Crate

According to the comments on the internet, many pet parents find this collapsible dog crate cool and valuable compared to other wire crates. Some pet owners say the cage does not fit into small cars and is unsuitable for heavy plastic chewers.

Here are some examples of Diggs Crate reviews.

Compared to other dog crates I looked at, this one is extremely well made, looks good, and has some great features. First, the door is much safer than most other crates. The top entry feature is great for being able to reach in and comfort a new puppy. The wheels allow me to move the crate to different parts of the house. Overall, a super nice crate, and although expensive, you get what you pay for.

This customer appreciates the door design and portability of the crate, mentioning it’s worth the money.

Puppy bit marks all over leaving it looking bad

Caroline is saying the crate is not chew-proof.

The Diggs crate is aesthetically appealing, very functional and sturdily constructed. The ability to quickly fold the crate into travel mode, roll it out of the house and carry it to our vehicle with its handle makes the crate perfect for taking the crate on mini-vacations with our dog. An excellent product!

Kenneth commends the travel-friendly, aesthetic design of the crate.

Accessories to Go With the Diggs Crate

A Snooz crate pad, Groov training aid, dog bowl, and dog treat are the accessories sold separately with the Revol Dog Crate.

Diggs crate pad is an environment-friendly orthopedic crate pad. It provides ergonomic memory foam comfort to your pet.

The cover is machine washable and resistant to minor accidents and tears. Remember, this pad won’t fit when using a puppy divider.

A small crate pad costs 28$. You can also buy a pad separately from another brand or use one you already have.

Diggs manufactures the bowl with rust-resistant stainless steel. You can attach this bowl to the cage using a crate clip. This bowl avoids spills and gives your dog more space inside the cage.

Groov training aid is beneficial for Crate training your pup. It gives your pet a very heavy positive reinforcement about their cage. Add your puppy’s favorite treat spread onto the groove and attach it to the cage.

With time, your puppy will learn to enjoy its crate time. A freezer shell is included to make a special frozen treat for your puppy.
