How Does the Extreme Fence work?
The perimeter wire is wirelessly connected to the collar receiver that your pooch wears.
When your dog approaches the boundary, tone or static correction (electric shock) is triggered, informing your pooch of the perimeter of the wireless fence. (Containment system)
In ground electric fences such as the Extreme Fence are invisible fence systems that work using radio signaling. Dog owners can install the system and train their dogs to the system.
It will work well to keep your pooch safe within the boundary of your property.
This wireless electric fence system is varied from traditional dog fences. It doesn’t require you to build an actual wall that could disturb the view and value of your property.
The boundary wire has a digital transmitter, which uses digital frequency encoding to communicate with the collar.

Cons
The biggest con on this wireless electric dog fence system is that the collar is NOT RECHARGEABLE. You will have to replace the batteries if possible otherwise, purchase a new collar, which could be expensive.
In our experience, we faced a lot of frustration with regards to the collar’s durability. It can be explained as being ‘FLIMSY‘ (easily damaged – dogs can damage them)
Further, to add to the complication, replacement collars will set you back $150, which is rather EXPENSIVE, considering the battery will run out every 4 to 6 months.
Customers have also expressed frustration over the vibration feature of the system. The fence was a HIT or MISS on the low-level setting.
Complaints of the manual not being INFORMATIVE enough have led other customers away from the system.

You can define boundaries on your phone and define as many boundaries and areas as you would like. You can also add more collars if you have multiple dogs. (Or want more dogs!)
The LOCATION-ENHANCED TRACKING feature of the Halo Collar uses GPS and GNSS technology to improve accuracy.
Just glance at your phone, and you can see where your dog is. The location-enhanced tracking can be very helpful if your dog runs through an open gate.
The only drawback, it is a little costlier than the Max Grade System. That being the case, all the great features of Halo 2+, makes it a worthy and valuable purchase for pet parents.
